A new study suggests that compared with female with 8 hours of sleeps per day, those with excessive or insufficient sleeps are more susceptible to heart disease. The study reported that the reason for excessive sleeps to cause coronary heart disease has not been clear yet. But if one is insufficient in sleep, previous studies have shown it may lead to hypertension. In 1986, researchers have conducted a questionnaire-type survey on 71000 U.S. female nurses, in which the researchers asked them to answer questions about their sleep habits. At that time, they have not suffered from heart disease. 10 years later, the researchers found that 934 among them have suffered from heart disease, including 271 deaths. In addition to snoring, smoking and body mass index and other factors, the researchers found that compared with female with 8 hours of sleeps per day, those with less than 5 hours of sleeps every day under the risk of heart disease would increase by 45%, and those with 6 hours and 7 hours of sleeps under the risk of heart disease would increase by 18% and 9% respectively, while those with more than 9 hours of sleeps under the risk of heart disease would increase by 38%. ![]() Female with excessive or insufficient sleeps are susceptible to heart disease edited by Heart Problems, all rights reserved, Do not copy or revise without our permission. |
